A lot of the west side was built in the 1950s and 60s: brick and frame ranches in neighbourhoods like Eagledale and Chapel Hill, with older homes still closer in toward Haughville.
Those houses were designed around a single forced-air furnace, a modest duct run and a tank water heater, often squeezed into a hallway closet or utility room. Many have since had an AC added, a room finished or a furnace swapped without anyone looking at the ductwork.

My furnace is 20+ years old. Repair or replace?
It depends on what failed, what the repair costs and how the furnace has held up. We inspect it, tell you honestly what we'd do in your place, and give a free replacement quote if one makes sense.
Why are my back bedrooms always warmer or colder?
In older ranch homes it's often the ductwork: long runs, leaky joints, closed or blocked registers or a weak return. We check airflow before suggesting bigger equipment.
Do you work on heat pumps and mini-splits?
Yes. Gortech repairs and installs heat pumps and ductless mini-splits, which suit additions and rooms the existing ductwork doesn't reach well.
Can a new water heater fit my old closet?
Usually, but it has to be measured. We check the space, venting and connections, and go over tank and tankless options that suit your household.
